Irish Legend meets the Larrier Legends
Have a game of spot the legend!!
Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Alan Kelly into our classroom. He was a great player for Ireland and is now the coach - helping Shay Given make the saves!
It was great to have Alan Kelly in the classroom and it was nice for him to meet the Larriers Legends! From one legend to another in third class we reckon!!

3rd Class at Pegasus Final by Tyrek and Conor
Yesterday at 12, in Irish Town Staduim, Larriers played in the Pegasus cup final. They were playing against Lady's Well. Larriers got a penalty 1 minute into the first half. Unfortunately they missed it. Larriers then scored a free kick. Some players from Lady's Well were too fast for us and they had a strong team but some of our players got through their defence and nearly scored. A few minutes after our goal Lady's Well hit the post. Coming into half time one of our players got a yellow card. In the 2nd half Lady's Well got an equaliser and took the lead a few minutes before full time. Some of our players were dissappointed because they knew they could do better.

The Planets by Anthony and John
There are 8 planets in the solar system. Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system. Did you know that Saturn is almost as big as Jupiter? But saturn has 7 rings going around that planet. So does Jupiter,Neptune,Uranus are also surrounded by rings.
The planet pluto is now called a dwarf planet. Did you know that pluto was the only planet that has not been discovered by space craft?
Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system even though Mercury is closer to the sun. This is because Mercury got burnt out and cooled down like a piece of black toast. Did you know that the sun is a big huge star?
Mars is just all red rocks and sand. Earth is the only planet to support life. The colours of the planets are black, brown, blue, red, pink, grey, dark white, and there are 2 blue.

In 1959 the first 12 females were appointed to the Garda Siochona. The female recruits were treated differently in that their pay and living arrangements were not comparable to their male counterparts even though they have undertaken the same training programme and would be assigned the same duties.

Simile Poem
The writer of this poem
Is nicer than a model
As stupid as Homer
As dumb as Barney
As fast as a car
I'm as lovely as a cow
As funny as a pair of shorts
And smaller than an ant.
