Welcome Back Adam!!!

Adam returned from his big trip to Australia for his sisters wedding. While Adam was away he kept a diary of his time in Australia. His diary is fantastic! The boys in our class had lots of questions for him, and Adam was full of information and facts about Australia. Adam told us all about the Eureka Tower, and made us jealous when he told us about his brothers swimming pool! He had a great time on holiday, you should ask him about Melbourne and the Australian animals he saw. Best of all Adam made it home just in time for the arrival of his new baby sister Niamh! Adam you will be a brilliant big brother and will have so much to teach Niamh! p.s.....Thanks for the Tim- Tams!

Autumn

Third Class have been writing some beautiful Acrostic Poems. An Acrostic Poem uses the letters in a topic word to begin each line. Here is an example of the lovely poems....

Weekend Sports Report by Callum Byrne

The All Ireland Final was on on Sunday and Kerry were playing Dublin in Croke Park. Dublin were getting beaten in the first ten minutes but by the second half they caught up. They were winning by a point, but then Kerry got a point. But then Dublin got another point, and they got victory!

Yesterday Manchester United were playing Chelsea. They beat Chelsea 3-1 and Spurs were playing Liverpool and they bet them 4-0.
In the Rugby World Cup Ireland were playing Australia. It was a brilliant game and Ireland beat them 15-6.

3rd Class....Our First Few Weeks!

Third Class have been having lots of fun, learning lots of new things in their first few weeks back. Andy brought the boys on a 'Capital Letter Hunt' around the school and they found LOADS of examples all around the school.

We also learned about mini-beasts and went looking for mini-beasts in the school yard. The boys were so brave, catching lots of spiders, woodlouse, a millipede, and even a grasshopper! We brought them back to the class for closer inspection, under a maginfying camera! Our boys are experts on invertebrates, ask them anything about them next time.

Well done Rang a Trí, great start to the new school year. Keep up the good work!

Happy Birthday

The first birthday of the year for third class. Happy Birthday Calum and a big thank you to Ms Staford for the chocolate cake!

Mini Beasts

Yesterday we went on a mini beast hunt. We brought magnifying glasses, a plastic tank, bug catchers and plastic bottles to the yard. We caught woodlouse, spiders, grasshoppers, a millipede, and an earwig.
